Why An American Heat Tankless Water Heater ?
American Tankless Water Heater Corp. management and engineering staff has been involved in the manufacturing of electronic tankless water heaters in the USA for over 12 years. This vast experience has helped in improving tankless water heaters performance based on consumer demand. The involvement of our staff with SATOP ( Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program ) NASA and the input we have gotten from consumers and wholesalers has allowed us throughout the years to improve and FINALLY come out with a product that TRULY replaces a conventional type tank heater whereas there is no having to constantly make temperature adjustments to the units with seasonal changes, no need to purchase additional equipment to control fluctuation, no need to make a life style adjustment as is the case with most other tankless water heaters in the market today.
Different than most other tankless water heaters that fluctuate, completely shut down or produce extreme temperature when the flow is lowered or cold water is mixed due to the fact that they are not self monitoring- Our new Smart Technology Digital Controller self regulates the energy consumption by measuring several factors instantly and making the necessary adjustments to maintain your selected temperature. The unit allows you to set your output temperature from 80 - 125 degrees F. At the time of installation you set your unit to the maximum output temperature and forget it, the unit will do the rest. If you set the maximum temperature to say 110 degrees F as recommended by the DOE for every day hot water usage, your maximum output temperature will be that of 110, no matter what the flow ( based on max unit output capacity ) or changing inlet temperature is. The lower the flow the lower the energy consumption and vice versa.

American Heat Tankless Water Heaters are whole-house tank replacements. They can be used anywhere tanks are used and everywhere tanks cannot be used. New Construction, existing locations, Commercial or Residential, Apartments, Condos, trailers, mobile homes, offices, retail stores and shops, the workplace, Hotels, Motels, Office towers, military or governmental relief locations around the world….ANYWHERE HOT WATER IS NEEDED.
ENERGY CONSERVATION: Would anyone leave their car running 24 hrs. per day because they will be using it again sometime or an iron on 24 hrs.. or a toaster etc.? yet we have a tank water heater operating and using energy 24 hrs. per day to keep water hot for when we want to use it. TANKLESS WATER HEATERS use energy only when you turn on the tap. If everyone used TANKLESS we would have a surplus of inexpensive energy available for other uses. No more brownouts. TANKLESS WATER HEATERS ARE 98.5% Energy efficient.
DECONTAMINATION SHOWERS: To be used by the military and civil relief workers across the United States in the ongoing battle of terrorism and the necessary preparedness required combating bio and germ warfare.
NO MORE FLUCTUATION AND POTENTIAL SCALDING OF CHILDREN OR THE ELDERLY: Water does not have to be superheated for extended use as it does in a tank water heater. We feel burning hot water from the tank and immediately have to temper with cold water to make it comfortable to the touch. AMERICAN HEAT TANKLESS WATER HEATERS allow you to set a moderate temperature of your selection and you don’t have to use the cold water side again. There is no longer super heated temperature to cause burns, disfigurement and possibly death. No FLUCTUATION problems as with other tankless water heaters.
How small is the American Heat Tankless Water Heater ?
Models 145-180 measure 13.5" wide x 16" high x 3.25" deep and Models 220-280 measure 17" wide x 16" high x 3.25" deep. American Heat Tankless Water Heaters are a fraction of the size of a conventional tank-type water heater and they mount on the wall, so you can reclaim 100% of the floor space once occupied by your conventional water heater. Just imagine what you can do with that additional storage space.
Are there any special plumbing or electrical requirements?
The unit is designed as a replacement for a conventional tank-type water heater. Any electrician and plumber can install it wherever the existing unit is located. The unit is designed to use the same 240 volt current that your conventional tank-type water heater uses. The circuit breaker must be changed to one consistent with the specific model requirements. The wire connecting the water heater to the circuit breaker must be changed to a wire size consistent with local electrical codes. This must be done by an electrician. Complete Installation Instructions and a User Guide are included with each unit. Every unit is supplied with a sub-panel and breakers.
What type of Warranty covers the American Heat Tankless Water Heater?
When installed by a licensed plumber and electrician (proof required), the product is covered by a LIFETIME 100% PARTS REPLACEMENT WARRANTY (including heating elements) to the original purchaser in the original location. The warranty may be transferred to a subsequent homeowner. All of the parts are manufactured and assembled in the USA and, unlike conventional tank-type water heaters, are 100% replaceable. If your system requires more service than a simple replacement part we will ship you a replacement unit at our cost.

Will one unit be sufficient for my house?
Depends in what part of the country you live in. In colder States depending on the model you select and your inlet temperature you will most likely be able to run multiple applications at a setting of around 110° F. when using water saver shower heads. Now it is not unusual or the norm for two people to be showering at the same time or running your washing machine while you shower since with a tank heater you would quickly run out of hot water and then have to wait for the water in the tank to be heated again and that can take some time.
What's unique about the American Heat Tankless Water Heater ?
It will reduce your hot water heating costs by up to 60%, while providing an endless supply of hot water. Unlike your existing tank-type hot water heater, the materials used in its construction resist corrosion so you won't experience water leaks from ruptured tanks that can ruin carpets, baseboards, drywall, etc. You reclaim the space once occupied by your outdated conventional tank-type hot water heater, because the unit mounts on the wall. It uses no FLOW SWITCH so there is no problems with the unit turning on and off, no FLUCTUATION just constant hot water. It's SMART DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CONTROLLER is unique; it measures the flow of water and incoming water temperature entering the unit, it instantly regulates the current to the heating elements to maintain your pre-determined maximum output temperature thereby offering higher energy savings. It only consumes what it needs when it needs it. No hot water flashes as is the case with other units, no fluctuation, no turning off and on in the middle of a shower. It also prevents scalding to small children and the elderly.
Why is the American Heat Tankless Water Heater so economical?
A conventional tank-type water heater must keep 40-80 gallons of water heated to between 120-160 F. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Now compare that to the 10-12 minutes a day per person that you actually turn on a hot water tap, shower, clothes or dish-washer, etc. American Heat Tankless Water Heaters only consume electricity when you use hot water! and only the necessary amount to heat the water to your desired temperature. Saves over any other tankless water heater in the market place today. Smart Digital Technology ensures you only consume the energy that you need to maintain your pre-set temperature, no more no less.
How does the American Heat Tankless Water Heater prevent scalding injuries?
Scalding occurs when water that is kept at a temperature of between 120-160 F. in a conventional tank-type water heater is allowed to flow from a faucet or shower without being mixed with cold water. When an adult encounters water that is too hot, they have the presence of mind and the ability to adjust the mixture and avoid scalding. When this happens to a child or infant, with or without intervention from an adult, the results can range from mild discomfort to third degree burns. American Heat Tankless Smart Digital Technology controls the temperature of the water by sensing the flow of water through the pipes and adjusting the current to the heating elements accordingly based on the maximum output temperature setting . Whether one or two people are using hot water at the same time, the water is kept at the same temperature. You select the maximum output temperature at the unit and every time you demand hot water it will deliver it at that temperature, one sink, a shower or multiple applications.. Hint: I set my unit to a 105°F temperature slightly higher than I like it when the hot water valve is full on and the cold water valve is full off. That way I don't waste energy by heating water and then mixing it with cold water in order to use it.
Will the American Heat Tankless Water Heater work if I have a well and pump?
Yes. The unit measures inlet temperature and flow so it will work with no problems.
How many units do I need for my house with an over sized tub?
This may depend on how many units your local building code calls for. Unless you use an unusually high volume of hot water, one unit should do nicely. If your house was built with, or is being designed for, two independent water heaters, you would require two units. The suggested configuration for homes with over sized tubs of the Jacuzzi, Roman, or Garden types or body sprays is to install two units in series, one centrally located to serve the majority of the home, and one on the hot water pipe going to the Master Bathroom with the over sized tub. The second unit would only operate and consume energy when the Master Bath was being used. The high flow rate of an over sized tub or body sprays requires that they be installed in series, and not independently. The building codes in many areas of the country have recently been modified to require a second water heater if an over sized tub is installed in the home.
I live in the North and my incoming water temperature in the winter is 50 F. What would the temperature of my shower be?
Before answering the question, it is important to note the following facts:
- Most of us are comfortable in a shower that is between 100-104 F. Remember that although normal body temperature is 98.6 F, surface skin temperature is only 85-90 F.
- Federal Law requires that Jacuzzi and Spa heaters be limited to 104 F.
- A 2.5 gpm restricted shower head will actually flow at about 1.9 gpm (shower head restrictors are calibrated using water pressure of 80 psi and the typical residential water pressure is about 60 psi).
The Model 280 would be the best one since at a 50°F inlet temperature you could set the unit at 105° and run 3.3 gpm -multiple applications or two showers if using water saver shower heads rated at 1.5 gpm.
What is the annual cost of operation ?
Approximately $200 annually for a family of four. This compares favorably to a conventional electric storage tank, which costs between $400-$450 annually.
